Jen + Reed's PAFA Wedding

The official start to our Wedding Season begun on Saturday.  I'm always the most prepared for the first wedding.  Every camera part is dusted and ready to go days before.  As the season continues my prep time shortens each time.   This year we're even more prepared than usual.  New shooters with great new cameras but more importantly new experiences.

Jen and Reed's wedding was held at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  It was my first at this location.  Jen had been nervous what collection would hang from the walls on her wedding day.  She took it in good stride when she learned the collection was The Human Body and mostly sans clothing.  She had no need to worry as the art faded into the background once the wedding begun.

I was excited for this wedding for two additional reasons.  This marked the first opportunity I was able to work with Siobhan and Darah from Dollface Studio in almost a year.  Way too long.  Also, this would be the first time new Forever Lucky Film shooter John Devins would be shooting with us.  He technical expertise and diverse experience would bring a new look to their big day.  Having an additional shooter working with me gave me freedom to wander that I don't usually have, but enjoyed.  I think the highlight video will attest to that.

Alternative Spring Break

While most students find there place on the sand soaking up rays come Spring Break, there are a too few that donate their precious free time to help others. Alternative Spring Break gives college students an opportunity to go somewhere and use their minds and energy to affect others.  In this case the students from the University of Central Florida arrived in Chestertown, Maryland to volunteer their services to the Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue.

On the day I was there a fence went up.  It was a thing of beauty, built by a team that had never before constructed a fence.

It was my first snow wedding.  Driving from Southern Delaware I hit a nasty bit of snow in mid-Delaware but by the time I reached Philadelphia, the snow was just perfect.  Allie's family has a history of January weddings and you couldn't really ask for a better day.  You want it to look like January right?  Although, my fingers went numb after being outside for an hour.

It was a well planned day.  Even the first dance was choreographed, with the entire bridal party getting into the mix.  You can check it all out plus more in their highlight video.

Kellie + Jim

I have written in the past of the excitement of a New York wedding and you've seen the first half of Kellie and Jim's wedding. In the first half I didn't post too many of the day's most memorable moments, but I corrected that though in the final cut.

Online Proofs

I've been using Vimeo for a few years to display video. It's not as cluttered as Youtube and the quality is fantastic. Yesterday, they announced they've ramped up the size of the video you can upload to 5gb. That's huge. Now we'll be able to upload your extended version in HD or near HD level and they're downloadable. This comes a day after I ordered some custom DVD covers from Etsys to send my proofs in.

So now couples can have the choice, via mail or via vimeo. Choice is good.
