Request for Artist Submissions

I half remember having a studio.  Its been an interminably long time since my presence darked the door frame.  All this time away has only inspired me to utilize it even more.  Not just a place to edit, meet and plan.  Id love it to be a destination. 

We currently are displaying one artist in one genre but we want more works from all methods.  Your most envelope pushing pieces.  We want to display, to brag and sell pieces to the eastern shore.

Since starting this business, I've always been busy. Self-employment frees up the schedule a bit but adds more wrinkles later. This year there has been more wrinkles than ever, with our busiest year but also because my wife Karen and I welcomed twins into the world last Friday. Christmas came early for us, but also for the boys so we're still living in a hospital in Annapolis. I've been doing a bit of editing here and there, but I'm limited by equipment and distracted easily by these cute buggers

In the heart of Philadelphia, sits Le Meridien Hotel. Sandwiched between structures built for art and business, Le Meriden is in the business of art. Each corner is funky. It's a place were bands, hipsters and socialites can call home when in town. Its also where lively, yet sophisticated weddings happen. It's where Rachel & Jason combined all the elements of fun, sexy, emotional and family to tie the knot. Editing the video, sexy won out. Lana Del Rey is all over the web, but her personal vocals matched the intimacy of the big day. It hits you every times she tell you she's gonna love you 'till the end of time. Enjoy!

I shoot video for work but photos for fun. My inspiration comes more from photography than video. Composition in videos especially Wedding Video is severely lacking in my opinion.

Henri Cartier Bresson famously said, "Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst." With digital I think that should multiplied by ten. With Video it should be your first 1000 hours are your worst.

So, one thing I love about digital photography is the ability to manipulate it. I have a concept knocking around in my head but to attack it I first need to work on my manipulation. The plan is to tackle the project starting in 2012 for a gallery showing here in Berlin next fall.

Here is a shot I've combined from a photo I took in Oregon in October, a photo of my wife on our wedding day and a wrecked ship. In the end I manipulated in the computer identically to how it was manipulate in my head.

A former neighbor of ours has a series of seascapes scattered around his New Jersey home, so I asked him if he'd be willing to display some pieces in our new Studio. All are available for sale through the Artist.

Fiddler's Elbow Wedding | Laura + Anthony | Forever Lucky Films

I was checking out my blog and realized I hadn't posted Laura and Anthony's wedding.  It was a huge and fun wedding.  Rain came but came late, so we had time for some for some great shots outside.  I shot their friend's Jen and Reed's wedding a number of months earlier and both were among my favorites of the year.  Fiddler's Elbow is a great spot.  Laid back despite the size of the weddings it puts on.   The band rocked it and we were there.

Cape May Wedding | Jen + Andy | Forever Lucky Films

There was a wine festival and a lima bean festival going on that second weekend in October in Cape May, but the real party was happening at the Yacht Club.  That's were Jen and Andy got hitched.  One of the highlights of the evening happened when Andy took the mic and sung Forever immortalized by the fictional band from Full House - Jesse and the Rippers.  Watch how it all went down here.



As for the rest of the day, it was bookend with a beautiful beach home and incredible sunset captured below.  Brandon Rodkewitz was the lucky photographer.  You can see his work on his site.  http://www.brphotographs.com .
