Squaw Valley Wedding | Ava + Chip | Forever Lucky Films

So Ava wanted a wedding back-dropped with the glory of fall in Squaw Valley while Chip wanted a winter wedding back-dropped with snow capped peaks.  Initially Ava won setting a date early November.  The day before the wedding the trees lined the valley with colorful foliage.  Then the clouds came and the next day those leaves were covered with snow.

The first snow of the season fell as Ava and her bridesmaids prepped at Plumpjack Inn and continued all day. I would have to say it was the coldest outdoor wedding I've done, maybe will ever do, but everyone was prepared and there really was no better place to tie the knot that day.

Here are some of the highlights of there jubilant celebration.  In the end everyone got that what they wanted.  Snow, colorful leaves and most importantly an epic party with family and friends (plus a win from their Alma Mater Oregon).

Fiddler's Elbow Wedding | Laura + Anthony | Forever Lucky Films

I was checking out my blog and realized I hadn't posted Laura and Anthony's wedding.  It was a huge and fun wedding.  Rain came but came late, so we had time for some for some great shots outside.  I shot their friend's Jen and Reed's wedding a number of months earlier and both were among my favorites of the year.  Fiddler's Elbow is a great spot.  Laid back despite the size of the weddings it puts on.   The band rocked it and we were there.

Brianna + Jeremy | Cherry Hill Wedding | Forever Lucky Films

Brianna and Jeremy poured their personalities into their wedding. Nothing from the location, an abandoned home in the middle of a Cherry Hill Park to the Reception, Jeremy's childhood home, was stock. Brianna's dress, with a touch of pink stood out from the moment I saw her in it. The gears in my head turned and I had the inspiration for their highlight video. Weeks later I was able to realize my inspiration use their creative talents in this short clip below.

Merion Golf Club | Margo + Eric | Forever Lucky Films

It was torture watching the slow moving Irene approach the East Coast. With the-sky-is-falling forecasts weatherman made everyone nervous. This is going to be a bad one they said over and over. So directly in the path of this hurricane was Margo and Eric's wedding, held at the beautiful Merion Golf Club.

With the wedding held on Saturday, we hoped to avoid the brute force that would come Sunday. Margo's photographer Amanda Fales came all the way from Indiana to document the day. Check out her blog she's fun.

But contrary to the predictions, Saturday was the worst day. Merion lost power and 99.9 of everything we shot was under something waterproof. An amazing thing happens when you have two hundred of your closest friends and family with you - weather becomes a subtopic. The Wedding was the Story and everyone was there to celebrate. And they did just that. Once the power came back and the dance floor opened it did close until end. The rides home were a bit hairy for some, including me, but I just wanted to protect the precious footage we'd filmed that day.

Check out some of the highlights. I used a song from Moby to open and switched to a song from The Head and the Heart called Cats and Dogs. Great name for a song to describe the rain on that day in August.

Radnor Wedding | Maureen + Brandon | Forever Lucky Films

Maureen and Brandon's wedding started at Maureen's childhood home, a victorian situated in the heart of Mantua and ended up across the river at the Radnor Hotel. Maureen asked me if I could use David Gray's, Please Forgive Me. No problem. The song hit the right chord for the day and when friends and family hit the dance floor I switched to an uptempo remix it take it out.

Branford House | Nazia & Faisal | Forever Lucky Films

We've shot in few places as strikingly beautiful as the Branford House. Just looking at the location on Google maps I knew it was going to be a treat. Set on the UConn campus and overlooking the Long Island Sound the Branford house is a tribute to the guilded age; large stone buildings, rich dark woods inside and a great lawn spilling over to the great sea.

Nazia and Faisal's wedding was an emotional and colorful experience. Aided by family, things ended up going perfectly and I felt lucky to be there. You'll see what I mean from the video.
