Special Pricing + Lucky Man

We're going to be offering some new pricing options around August 1st. That's when we move into our new office. The goal is stay closer to home. I love hitting the road for weddings and visiting new areas, but with the addition of twins this winter I'll be aiming to reduce the miles a bit.

Until then 9(actually August 11) we're offering $250 off any package for weddings held at in Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore.

I'll let you today with Lucky Man from the Verve. Everyone knows Bittersweet Sympathy, I hear it all the time at wedding, but if you're not familiar with the album it's awesome all the way through. Lucky Man and The Drugs Don't Work especially prove that The Verve were much more than a one-hit wonder.

Thankfully once in every 800 years or so we're gifted with a July containing 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. Awesome, if you're school aged child wishing to slow time in the summer. Equally, beautiful and yet formidable as a wedding videographer. I'm pretty sure we're shooting more July weddings this summer than the past 3 combined.

For the three this past weekend, imperfect weather was upstaged by adventurous spirit, efficient planning with a dozen hours of footage to prove weather need not be the biggest worry for a couple on their wedding day. In a couple days I leave for Vermont to film on the banks of Lake Champlain only to return to shoot again along the shores of the Atlantic on Saturday. Busy enough for you. But wait there's more.

After shooting up near Mystic Connecticut we'll be getting the keys to our new studio in Berlin. This is going to be a space, to shoot, meet and show off all that we've done and work on new and exciting projects. There's going to be a lot of white space and we'll be working on the gallery end of it in the coming months. For all of my photography friends as well as painter and sculptures, drop me a email; we'd love to display your work and sell a few pieces as well.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Karen and I just found out twins are on the way. I'm pretty sure what I consider busy now will be changing at the close of 2011. I'm thankful July's like this happen only once every 800 years.

Edit, Editing, Edited

I put every computer through the ringer attempting to pull every ounce of power. Overlapping projects are pretty much a daily occurrence. Today I'm editing one wedding, rendering another, working on a fun project and outlining a cool montage.

Downbeach Design also partnered up with an Australian Company to complete edits for them. Those will be rolling out soon and I'm happy to help.

So if you're reading this and are a videographer with a backlog or just someone with some raw footage I'm available and love to edit. It may be my favorite part of the whole process.

The Month so Far

I started out the month with a beautiful wedding and perhaps ending it filming a reality show. In between there's been lots of meetings, and rewrites and editing. 2010 is going to be a building year for Downbeach. A short film shoot in March and hopefully a Documentary begins in April or so. Therefore 2011 could be the festival year, or a least we should hope.

I can't count how many weddings I did last year, although I'll have a better picture next month when I do my taxes and way ahead of the pace for 2011. I would hope that is some type of economic indicator.

So yesterday I met with a producer/director of LA Law for which she has an Emmy and Sabrina the Teenage Witch- among scores of others. Awesome lady. Turns out she's a neighbor. She has some great ideas for shows scripted and unscripted in the works. Depending on availability I should behind the camera for a couple of those. Plus a TV commercial filming next month.

All in all 2010 is off to a crazy start.

From NJ to California to NYC

Three weddings, two coasts and lots of airports and rest stops. It's been a crazy month for weddings. I'm staying put for the fall so I should be posts lots of great footage in the near future. As always, I appreciate all feedback.

April Stuff

After a somewhat slow start, the summer is booking up fast. It should be an exciting season with weddings from New York City to Northern California. It's fun checking out new places and meeting great couples every week and to think just a couple years ago I was working in a casino.

I haven't had a chance to post anything recently, because I really haven't had a chance to film anything. It's been busy on the non-wedding film work front and a great way to bring some of those techniques to your wedding films. I have some great ideas and can't wait we hit the wedding season full speed.

I'm also looking for couples to do a "love story" basically a non-wedding music video. But from what I've seen these are really cliched so I'd want to get creative with it and do some really fun stuff. Let me know if you are interested.

March Update

So, I've fallen behind in my 52 week video project but have exchanged that delay with a brand new website. In the past I was a web site designer but have left those days behind. The new site allows for easy changes and no website design on my part. It's a beautiful thing. Of course any comments on the site or suggestions are always welcome.

May Update

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to post what's going on at xposedfilm. May has been a jam packed month. I've been able to visit some pretty cool places and film some really fun couples. June will be equally busy. I have a half-dozen weddings to edit already but really want them to be special so I'm not rushing them. I hope to have all my May weddings edited by July 1...Let's hope.

I hope everyone likes Vimeo rather than continue using Youtube. I may end up posting on both but Vimeo's HD option is very cool.

I've been working on a short film that I hope to film in June. It looks like it'll actually end up being August. It'll be a depature from my wedding videos for sure , but we'll see. I hope to have it done and edited for festivals by the end of the year.
